Safeguarding mil tech secrets does not make financial sense for weapons makers:

When it gets ripped off they can scream, “The scheming Chinese are riiiiight behind us and we need to stay AHEAD..!”

And they get more money to that end. If perpetually we were miles out in front there probably wouldn’t be the $upport for new megabuck systems.

You and me? We DO care about our military guys. We DO get choked up singing the national anthem.

The tippy top of the arms world..? I’m not so sure and I think we might be getting played.

Why do they hire Chinese engineers to make sensitive US weapons? It’s like they WANT our stuff stolen.

IT’S LIKE THEY *WANT* IT STOLEN.

I personally do not believe you know anything about what you are saying. I will withdraw this criticism if you can substantiate your suspicions.

And for the record, some one may get money to develop a counter to technology stolen by a foreign agent, but it will not be the company who lost the material. They will be slapped with a security violation and probably not allowed to bid again for any program with the same agency for 6 months to a year or more.

And yes, we in the industry do understand we are making equipment for our troops and our country’s defense. If people responsible for safeguarding material make mistakes, kit is made in error. Not for the purpose of ensuring additional work.
