Poor girl. The U.S. government tried to save her, but will be used and will lose.
Responsible adults should take care of their kids, not drag them along a thousand mile trek to try and extort, and invade, the United States.
Why was the kid “dehydrated”? They couldn’t find water????
Her father subjected her to the danger and risks, and it’s the father who should be held responsible.
He tried to use that kid as a get-in-the-states free card, and this is the results.
I personally don’t want to be around, and live around, people who have no more concern about their children than to use them. It’s a form of child molestation.
The sperm donor should be shot for dragging a 7 year old across the desert. That’s pretty sick.

I lived for 3.5 years in Arizona. One of the chief things I came to learn is that you always carry a bottle or two of water with you...even when traveling by car. Just having a breakdown, in 105 degree heat and standing there for three hours...can get you into the initial stages of dehydration.
Looking at all of these supposed ‘hikers’ going through Mexico...unless someone was refilling their water bottles often...they all had to be suffering from occasional dehydration. And forcing kids to do this....it’s a pretty cruel act.
I learned this the hard way. You can drive further in an hour than you can walk in 3 days. You’d better have some water or its going to be a really bad couple of days.
This has to be negligent homicide. It’s hard to imagine the horrible situation that the father put his daughter through. Being thirsty is a agonizing way to die.
Both parties want that border open; that is why the Republican leadership hates Trump. He exposed their collaboration in the destruction of our way of life.

That was my opinion. Any newspaper that comes up with the fictitious federal agency Border Control can’t be relied on to get many of the other facts correct.

Encouraged by left wing propagandists at the San Francisco Chronicle, a desperate immigrant father made a dangerous journey across the desert, resulting in the death of his baby daughter due to dehydration. Nobody at the Chronicle offered water, food or transportation to the baby during the perilous crossing, even though the newspaper baited the poor father with promises of food, clothing and shelter once he crossed the border from Mexico.
Thousands of Japanese 7 year olds instantly vaporized in Nagasaki. None of which ever attempted to invade America.
