It’s big trouble. Just look at Jill Stein’s run in 2016. She helped sink Hillary. If Kasich could pull, say, 200,000 votes total in a few key industrial states, Trump could be toast.

And with the help of some big donors, Kasich could get those 200,000 votes.

I doubt Trump will debate John Kasich ever again. Kasich won't be relevant in a GOP primary vs. Trump, nor polling the required 15% minimum to get into the presidential debates (for the record, I don't believe Kasich will run third party.)

I do expect the media to heavily promote Kasich or Flake or whoever the delusional, still-butthurt-over-2016 Bill Kristol #NeverTrump-types end up running. Sometime around spring 2019 we'll get one of those quadrennial early polls showing unlikely candidate X is doing surprisingly well, by which I mean CNN or The Washington Post will feature a blaring headline of "GOP Primary Poll: John Kasich Within Five Points of Trump in New Hampshire." You know, I know, everyone knows Kasich/Flake/Sasse ain't going to defeat Trump in the 2020 GOP presidential primary, but the mainstream media will use them as a useful idiot to bash Trump while pretending there's some "drama" about who'll win.

Kasich never had a chance in the last election. If he thinks sabotaging his own party and supporting Hillary in a presidential election has made his chance improve, he’s even stupider than I thought... which doesn’t seem possible.

Maybe he should get Bobby Jindal to be his running mate. I’ll never forget when that clown lectured multi-billionaire Trump with the admonition that ‘A fool and his money are soon parted”. What an idiot. He would fit right in with Kasich.

You mean...you mean....

JOHN KASICH IS SANTA!!!

Oh, John Kasich Santa, I’d like you to go and fly with Rudolph.

No, that wouldn’t work.

All the wind whistling through John Kasich Santa’s ears would frighten the children and make the dogs howl.

If the Repubs dump Trump for another RINO, it’s time to sit back and let the libs take over.
Then the civil war.
With absolutely positively NO mercy.

We’re all sick of this cr*p and it’s time to put it to an end.

Even 4 percent would be trouble in Michigan, PA and Wisconsin. Gotta find a way to convince him to stay out of it, or find a third party Dem to counterbalance him.

Considering what Kasich has done to Ohio’s budget, I can see why Trump is licking his chops....

Kasich wants to be a spoiler but he is already spoiled. He was a whiny, pathetic loser in 2016. People remember that. Its an image that won’t be easy for him to overcome.

What, Kasich’s whole family gonna vote for Kasich again?

The in-laws are all for Trump. Kashit has 4 votes

Kasich will have to debate himself.

He's a chronic master debater.

He’d swing NH to Trump, he might also help Trump in Michigan, Wisconsin and PA. He doesn’t hurt Trump in any red States except Ohio. Trump has a solid base.

Ross Perot generated some real excitement vs. the very dull Republicans, Bush and Dole. By contrast, Kasich and Flake are the dull ones - and Trump is anything but dull.

Plus, from a pro-jobs, pro-business, America First standpoint, Perot positioned himself to the right of the GOP milquetoasts - that’s how he siphoned votes off them and allowed Clinton to win. Bush and Dole were 2nd world war heroes, but neither of them had any clue how to translate that love of country into solutions to modern day problems - it was easy for Perot to get to the right of their globalist uniparty policy positions.

How is Kascich or Flake going to get to the right of Donald Trump? They are most likely going to be remembered for the times they sided with the Democrats against Trump.

No, I don’t think Trump is vulnerable to a third party challenge - he’s staked out a very, very strong claim on the America First voting block. The Democrats’ only chance is to try and beat him using the same playbook they tried in 2016 - lie, cheat, steal - create class divisions - rig the courts to allow felons, aliens and dead people to vote. Then when none of that works - make up something to impeach him for.

I don’t think his object is to win, it’s to pull enough votes to hurt Trump. On the other hand, he seemed remarkably sure he would win the primary in his last run. Delusional, but sure. Idee fixe you might say.

Looking back, too bad Ross Perot didn’t win. (Only partially joking, here).
