We were there yesterday, at the Christmas market. Security was present. Bags and backpacks were cursory glanced at. We passed four fatigue dressed army patrol. Lots of local police. Safe tonight in Frankfurt.

We spent the last two weeks at Christmas markets in the Rhine valley. Saw lots more security in France than in Germany.

Glad you’re safe - I’m in Paris now and there are police all over the place, but it’s for the yellow vest wannabes, and they’re really not a problem if you don’t go where they are. The Muslims have been threatening Christmas markets everywhere though.

I was at their Christmas market three years ago right after the Paris bombings. The military was patrolling but we felt safe. No problems at all.

This town is very pretty. Too bad violence has found it.

The difference between Strasbourg and Frankfurt? One is markedly cleaner.
