Exactly!. President Trump needs to VETO any bills that do not include comprehensive funding for the wall.
Republican Senators who are weasels can then vote to override the POTUS and we will really see their true colors. Force their hand!

People need to stop panicking so much about Big GovernmentTM being “shuttered” for a few days.
Things we *truly* need like firefighters, rescue, and police remain operational. Maybe national parks are temporarily closed...big whoop-dee-do.

People don’t get it. We narrowly won in Texas. We barely kept Florida.
President Trump absolutely must win in 2020 or we will never see another Republican presidency again in our lifetimes.

Normal citizens like us are not having 6-8 babies like invading Third Worlders all with their hands out and EAGER to vote for leftwingers.
If we don’t get a handle on immigration...all other discussions are moot...because 90% of the sh*tbirds being imported vote Democrat.

Glad you can see this for what it is...the hill to die on.

Other FReepers really hammered me for my comments yesterday.

I maintain that he should not sign any spending bill that does fully fund the wall. If the Republican’s override his veto....good. That will smoke out the weak dicks who want open borders.

Trump needs to man up and quit this slow dance with the dems...

He was elected to lead, not capitulate.

RE: Then why did he promise to do it if he didn’t have the authority to do it?

He’s trying his best to do it, but he’s not the Emperor.Did you expect him to accomplish it on his own? He promised to do it with the ASSUMPTION that his party which was in control of both houses, would cooperate.

I voted for him with that assumption in mind. You can’t blame him for a faulty but reasonable assumption.

But look at the alternative for the disappointed — staying home and letting the dems control the lower house.

How’s doing that going to get you closer to the goal of building a wall? if any, that makes the goal even LESS LIKELY.

Agreed. That is the whole thing.
President Trump must operate as if he has FULL SUPPORT of regular Americans yet no support from media, Democrats, and most Republicans.

Republican congresspeople and senators love being in the minority and doing nothing.
“Hey, we are doing our best, yet we are powerless under Democrat domination. But keep voting for us. We are having tea with them later.”

President Trump needs to “pull out all the stops” to get the wall built.
It will help immediately. Plus it forces a potential Democrat POTUS in 2024 (or after) to remove a fantastic wall that has helped Americans.
Republicans forever seem to be the ones apologizing or meekly wringing our hands. President Trump can be our voice.

“Tucker is second tier talent. He can make for decent TV, but philosophically and intellectually he doesns’t rate.

“Who does?”

Victor Davis Hanson and Andrew McCarthy for starters.

Tucker Carlson does what he does - hosts a daily political show - about as well as anybody can.

If those guys tried it either they wouldn't do it as well or they wouldn't be "first rate" thinkers any more, because they'd have to perform every day.

Plus, I'm not aware that Carlson has had to walk back anything he's said or done as much as Hanson did after beating the drums for the Iraq war.
