Evers not optimistic Wisconsin Gov. Walker will veto bills
Associated Press ^ | December 9, 2018

Wisconsin’s Democratic Gov.-elect Tony Evers said Sunday he’s not optimistic that outgoing governor Scott Walker will veto bills approved by the Republican-dominated Legislature that would limit the new governor’s power.

Speaking on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Evers said he talked by telephone with Walker recently and appealed to him to veto the legislation, but that Walker was noncommittal.

Evers, who will be sworn in Jan. 7 after narrowly defeating the two-term Republican last month, said Wisconsin voters did not elect him to fight over administrative powers with the GOP legislative majority. He said the lame-duck legislation approved by lawmakers after an all-night session last week “gets us off to a bad start. And I think that’s a mistake.”

“But we’ll continue working to get the people of Wisconsin to convince Scott Walker to think about his legacy and make sure that he vetoes this language,” Evers said. […]

If Walker signs the bills, lawmakers can decide when the state can withdraw from lawsuits, and Evers would have to request permission to adjust programs that are run jointly with the federal governor, such as Medicaid. The GOP measures also would empower legislators, not new Democratic Attorney General Josh Kaul, to decide whether to withdraw Wisconsin from a lawsuit challenging the Affordable Care act. The bills also could make it harder for Evers to renegotiate a $3 billion subsidy spearheaded by Walker for a Foxconn Technology Group manufacturing facility in southeastern Wisconsin. …

Evers overall plane seems to be what the public union bosses and his cadre of radical leftists want - get rid of farmers, manufacturers, 2.9% unemployment, and spend a lot of money on things the public does not want or need while raising every tax possible thus returning the state to Gov. Jim Doyal days of near bankruptcy or just turning Wisconsin into a financial and political clone of Illinois or California. Making Wisconsin a state to flee from, aka a socialist paradise.

Maybe its time to flee south with the approaching 300-4000 year cold spell ... Costa Rica sounds nice

They really take us for fools. The same playbook never changes.

And we (or at least the possible fraudulent voters resuscitated for the election) continue to smack successes upside the head retuning the state to people who love socialism.

I’m not sure if the legislature has sent the bill over, but Walker has 6 days (business days or regular?) to decide after it reaches his desk.

I hope they send it over on 12/14 and Walker could sign it on 12/20 right before the Christmas weekend. The leftists will be too drunk to protest.

It has been totally pathetic watching the corrupt MSM trying to squeeze Walker into vetoing this legislation, particularly the Milwaukee Democrat Sentinel.

I sincerely hope Walker does not back down or cave to this inane pressure. Most upsetting is how the MSM have completely turned their backs on any objectivity whatsoever. They are complete Democrat activists.

Walker: Sign the Bill!
