Iran on Saturday launched a ballistic missile that can deliver nukes and the near-complete silence of the press aside, its a big deal. The latest test disclosed, once more, the flaws in the Iranian nuclear deal and the confusion of our European allies, who are alarmed by the mullahs behavior but fear losing the deal that enables it.
The Iranian regime has just test-fired a medium range ballistic missile thats capable of carrying multiple warheads, Secretary of State Pompeo tweeted Sunday, adding: This test violates UNSCR 2231 the United Nations Security Council resolution that made the nuclear deal international law.
One problem for Mr. Pompeo and President Trump is that their predecessors settled for a watered-down United Nations resolution on Iranian missile tests. Desperate to get to a Yes, President Obama agreed that the council will merely call upon Tehran to please, please, pretty-please not test.
And here we are.
While Tehran hasnt confirmed the launch, the regime insists it has the right to test missiles for its national defense. France and Britain convened the Security Council Tuesday to discuss what Europeans pointedly refuse to call an Iranian violation but admit is inconsistent with the resolution.
Americas UN ambassador, Nikki Haley, called for a unanimous condemnation. Dont hold your breath. The council plans no action, and even if it meets again, several diplomats tell me, it cant unite behind even a mild rebuke.
This, even though the launched missile could reach Israel, Egypt, and Southern Europe. As Brian Hook, Mr. Trumps senior adviser on Iran, told reporters in Brussels Monday, we have been warning the world for some time that we are accumulating risk of a regional conflict if we do not deter Irans missile testing and proliferation.
Europes position is far less clear.

Good to see someone else remembers that lost gem from 1980.
The anti-American, anti liberty, global socialist deep state could care less about Iran going hot.
All in our deep state are more than happy, to proactively work to strengthen the Moscow/Tehran/Ankara alliance and Shia Crescent, to damage and destroy President Trump, and any agreement he has made in an effort to at least try and temporarily neutralize the Iranian Shia Crescent threat against the US, Israel, Jordan, SA, and European energy interest.
This will put pressure on the Euros to back off on their efforts to bust the harsh new sanctions on Iran.
Let the sanctions work, and lets get regime change in Iran - that is the only real solution.
Oh by the way, this week’s earth-shaking arrest of the head of Huawei (the communist Chinese’s biggest electronics company) in Canada, is because of breaking the sanctions on Iran.
The heat is cranking up. Big time.
...Treason?
“The anti-American, anti liberty, global socialist deep state could care less about Iran going hot.”
B
They, the marxist muslim alliance welcome it.
Bomb Iran bomb bomb
Bomb bomb Iran
Bomb Iran bomb bomb
Bomb bomb Iran hahaha! That’s a good one, but nobody under 65 is going to recognize the reference.
Multiple warheads (which work) is a hard thing.
Possibly got it from the ChiComs who the Clinton’s GAVE such technology to (what payoff then?) back in that regime.
Back then it advanced the Chi-Com nuke missile capabilities by something like 10 years.
It was allegedly to help the ChiComs with ‘satellites’ or some similar excuse.
