No; it was always this way even back during the EEC days. The Treaty of Rome is very clear that the goal was to forge “an ever-closer union among the European peoples” even back in 1957. The form of unelected government in Brussels that exists today was actually put in place earlier than that, by the 1951 Treaty of Paris.
Well, that is not what the countries that joined thought would happen.
Totalitarianism in all forms is Evil. Global Totalitarianism is the Ultimate Evil.
It makes not difference if it comes from the Right or Left. Totalitarianism destroys.
