The Principal wants to apologize “for any confusion of concern”. What does this mean? How about simply apologizing to all those who celebrate Christmas? And it sounds like it was an internal memo that got out. Shall I guess that if it hadn’t gotten out, there would have been no actual Christmas related decorations, clip art, etc?

It means, “I thought I’d be a liberal hero but the blowback was immediate. Now, I’m just pretending it was just an innocent mistake. All a misunderstanding.”
