Dennis Prager noted recently that the Left does not argue with dissenters any more. They have no moral standing. The Left now bans people who disagree with them and will even deny their existence.

This goes to the whole idea of regulating the high tech communications giants like Google, Facebook et al to protect the 1st Amendment. Many of us here are reluctant to do it because they are private businesses. They have all sold themselves as being essentially public bulletin boards where people can post mostly whatever they want to. However, they are presently pulling a giant bait and switch where they're using their "private" status to claim a 1st Amendment right to deprive their customers of their 1st Amendment rights, in spite of the fact that the Government gave them legal protection from libel suits because they represented themselves as, essentially, public bulletin boards. Now, because of that protected status, it's time to view them as privately owned public utilities, like AT&T, railroads, and power companies, that can be prohibited from doing all sorts of discrimination, and prohibit them from censoring, demonitizing, shadow banning, etc., their customers, except for violating the FCC standards you mentioned.
Take for example the case of Alex Jones. Apple pulled the InfoWars conspiracy theorist’s podcast from its platform in August...
It seems to me that the left is using Alex Jones as a way to bridge the gap between genuine “hate” and merely “stuff we disagree with”. With that demarcation breeched they are freer to group regular old conservatives in with the fringe haters and censor them.

So, in theory, if all men were angels, we’d live in a perfect world. However, last I noticed, not many people have wings and a halo. Thus, we’re stuck with the real world, in which people ALWAYS try to control the environment surrounding them, a large part of which involves dominating or controlling other people. It also means, in this day and age of Newspeak, that the definition of “hate speech” has been broadened to specifically include any thought with which Leftists disagree, or which causes any member of any (presently) favored group to get butthurt.

Say homosexuals are mentally ill, and you have committed "hate speech."
Say women aren't the equal of men, and you have committed "hate speech."
And the clueless people among us who think that censorship is okay so long as it's a "private" corporation, are going to wake up one day finding themselves threatened with being sent to a reeducation camp unless they mouth the right words.
