CNN’s decision to drop Marc Lamont Hill has met with resistance on the left, with some prominent progressives calling for the network to rehire him and challenging the widely held view that his comments before a United Nations panel were anti-Semitic.
Harvard professor Cornel West, “Avengers” star Mark Ruffalo, Democratic Rep.-elect Rashida Tlaib, and a host of journalists were among those who rushed to Mr. Hill’s defense after CNN released the liberal commentator last week following an uproar over his speech.
Mr. West said he was in “deep solidarity” with Mr. Hill, while Mr. Ruffalo said that “[c]riticizing Israel is not anti-Semitic” and urged supporters to sign a petition posted by the left-wing group IfNotNow calling for him to be reinstated “immediately.”
“Once again we are seeing the American Jewish establishment censor conversations about Palestinian rights by falsely claiming antisemitism, and it is setting a terrifying precedent,” said the petition.
Meanwhile, Ms. Tlaib tweeted: “Calling out the oppressive policies in Israel, advocating for Palestinians to be respected, and for Israelis and Palestinians alike to have peace and freedom is not antisemitic.”
While CNN offered no explanation for why it cut Mr. Hill, the move came a day after his Nov. 28 speech condoning the use of force by Palestinians against Israel and concluding with a call for a “free Palestine from the river to the sea.”

Typical libs, not giving the entire story. Hill was reciting a PLO propaganda phrase about removing Israel from the map - which would entail killing millions of jews. That is a far step beyond basic criticism.
He’s not criticizing Israel.
He’s supporting a terrorist regime.

Of course the typical leftards rush to the defense of a a Jew hater since they themselves are Jew Haters. Maybe these same celebrities can move to Israel for a week and see how it feels to be afraid of rockets hitting you or being stabbed to death by an arab piece of crap..maybe THEN they will get it

A “free Palestine from the river to the sea” is code for the destruction of Israel. The “river” is the Jordan (actually just a pitiful stream as most of its water is siphoned off by Israel and Jordan). Israel is positioned precisely between the “river and the sea.” And of course the Palestinians will demand the Old City of Jerusalem as their capital, which the Israelis will never agree to.
I lived among the Arabs on the West Bank for years, and can attest that they were decently-treated by the IDF, which showed great restraint (Yes, we had the dreaded knock on the door late at night - Israeli soldiers looking for troublemakers, but they were unfailingly polite and respectful.) They also had employment in Israel that allowed them to build huge villas - just drive Derek Hevron (the main road south of Jerusalem) and you will be astounded at the large handsome homes. All that income has now been cut off since the Palestinians shot themselves in the foot by refusing to cooperate with Israel.
There are plenty of liberal Jews who are in name only who will poke out their own eye if it makes them look good in front of all their friends who think the same way and worship the same human brain and books and universities. And they will criticize Israel to the point of its destruction and not blink an eye.
Criticizing Israel is not anti-Semitic.
Treating all men as potential rapists is not sexist.
Considering all Whites to be prejudiced from birth is not racist.
