"The Worst Deal in History": Theresa May's Surrender
The Gatestone Institute ^ | December 4, 2018 | David Brown

Posted on 12/04/2018 1:12:25 PM PST by detective

This Brexit "deal" is anything but good for the nation.

This "deal" will cost the British taxpayer £60 billion; require that the British still comply with EU rules without having any say in what those will be, and worst of all, it permits the British to leave the EU only if the EU agrees. It commits the British effectively to subjugation by the EU in perpetuity, with no recourse should the British change their mind. It is a prison. It is also the first step of the EU toward its dream of global governance: unaccountable, untransparent, unelected by the public, and with no way out.

There is still a way out of this mess; an easy alternative. The solution is No Deal. Without any further action, the UK's membership of the EU will lapse on March 29, 2019, and unless that majority can unite around a viable alternative, we will leave. Even better, according to a House of Lords report, there would be no legal obligation for the UK to make any payment as part of a financial settlement.

Most coverage of Brexit and the EU is confused and almost impossible to understand.

This is an excellent article that explains it clearly.

It sounds like Britain needs another Lady Thatcher.

You have to to pay to leave the EU?! The UK should give the EU the middle finger salute and say hasta la vista! In truth, the EU needs the UK a lot more than the reverse.

Why the Hell has England still not voted Nigel Farage as Prime Minister? I saw the guy speak in Mississippi and he was superb.

The country has been so badly served by its corrupt politicians for decades.

Just about anyone could use another Lady Thatcher. Heck, we could use one in 6 years.

Can May really be that stupid?

She’s produced a complex, unworkable, can-kicking hairball of an agreement. It will simply never be implemented and will constantly be under debate and strain as its contradictions and problems reveal themselves.

Morever, the EU itself is in trouble. Italy is rebelling, Greece is a slave state, the entire EU is heavily in debt. France itself is rioting.

It seems May is oblivious

Sounds like the kind of “deal” the racist POS Fraud made on “our” behalf with his terrorist BFF’s in Iran.

Farage just resigned from UKIP in protest of Tommy Robinson.

Are the British in general this stupid? All signs point to yes from my perspective.

To pay £60 billion to be kept in shackles for another year is absurd.

As stupid as this Brexit in name only deal is, if the British parliament passes it then they are to blame too. Sabotaging Brexit cannot be blamed only on Theresa May.

As DJT would say ... “It’s a scam”

From my proposal:

UK INDEPENDENCE

The UK shall be legally independent of the EU, except via this agreement, and its successors, effective 1 April 2019.

Except as clearly and self-evidently provided by any international treaty in which many non-EU nations and the UK are bound by, the courts of the UK shall be the sole courts having judicial power in the UK and over the governments of the UK, effective 1 April 2019.

ECONOMIC STABILITY PROVISIONS

Proper UK/EU certifications to EU/UK law shall be valid, unless related EU/UK law is changed.

UK/EU products and services shall be treated as per existing rules, unless related EU/UK law is changed.

UK/EU products and services shall not be discriminated against by the UK/EU, without a notice period of at least two years.

RESIDENTAL RIGHTS

Each EU/UK citizen can continue to reside in, and own, and sell, their existing EU/UK property/properties, in the country they are in, without undue legal discrimination as to regulation, taxation and tax-supported schooling below the university level, as long as they do so in a lawful manner that is respectful of the social order, which may be clarified by national law.

Begging, intimidating solicitation, rough sleeping, illegal housing overcrowding, tax evasion, repeated/criminal fare evasion, rowdiness and public intoxication may legally be considered disrespectful of the social order.

RECIPROCAL RIGHT to WORK and PARTICIPATE in ASSOCIATED HEALTH CARE SCHEMES

Current EU citizens may work in the UK, conditioned on full mutual reciprocity for current UK citizens, by EU member nation, as they legally could as of 1 December 2018, until further notice under a national law of the UK or EU member nation, to be bilaterally effective after four years, which shall not be given earlier than 2026.

All such participating foreign EU/UK workers and their legally dependent children living with them shall be able/required to participate in the associated health care schemes to the same extant and on the same basis as resident nationals, unless related EU/UK law is changed.

UK WELFARE for EU CITIZENS

Effective immediately, EU newcomers to the UK shall not be entitled by any UK agreement with the EU to get welfare, such as housing benefits or new student loans.

UK welfare for all EU citizens in UK, not having UK citizenship, by any UK agreement with the EU, ends 31 December 2019.

....

UK PAYMENTS to the EU

Shortly after 1 January 2020, the UK government shall pay the EU government 2,000,000,000 pounds, if the UK has not experienced any substantial adverse impact from Brexit.

Shortly after 1 January 2022, the UK government shall pay the EU government 2,000,000,000 pounds, if the UK has not experienced any substantial adverse impact from Brexit.

Shortly after 1 January 2024, the UK government shall pay the EU government 2,000,000,000 pounds, if the UK has not experienced any substantial adverse impact from Brexit.

Other UK payments to the EU are to be determined by the Parliament of the UK, with an annual minimum of 500,000,000 pounds, until further notice by the Parliament of the UK.

Oh, so it’s very similar to a real divorce.

Sounds like the EU took away the sovereignty of the UK.

Where I live in Spain there is no shortage of British expats who would be perfectly willing to trade away their sovereignty for the chance to keep their "free stuff"
