Mitch McConnell response? Ummm Uhhh. We don't have the votes and I cannot figure out how to get them. We only have the House, the Senate, and Presidency.

It’s telling that they didn’t extend it one additional week in order to get past Christmas.
The Federal Govt is closed for Xmas and sometimes earlier the day before, and for New Years Day (and sometimes the day before).
We might be safer if they stay closed for a month or two, esp. if it keeps the Democrats from taking over the House of Representatives.
Maybe Rep. elect Ocasio-Cortez will say that we have to close for St. Festivus Day because she saw it mentioned on “Seinfeld” and felt that St. Festivus supporters were being discriminated against.
In her case, I would also have her stay out of the office whenever they show “One Flew Over The Cuckoo Nest” on TV, in honor of her mental prowess.
But they cant help it.. all congress wants is grandma to have Christmas. Its their only working days.. passing spending deals.
Look at how wonderful all of those chuck n nancy artsy spending deals benefitted the taxpayers. I still can’t believe it myself.
