National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow announced Monday that during the G20 summit, the Chinese promised to make trade changes immediately.
Kudlow told Breitbart News on a Monday press call that the timeline for this round of U.S.-China trade negotiations is going to move fast. He stressed that the credibility of the current discussion between the two nations will hinge on rapid movement. This is something the two sides discussed specifically at last weeks G20 Argentina meetings, including the meeting involving President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. He did not give a definitive timeline aside from indicating rapid movement.
This is new, though, Kudlow emphasized. He defined these new communications as broader and more detailed. The two sides were communicating in the weeks leading up to the G20. Kudlow said there were no promises but covered more ground than anything weve seen before. He added that the Chinese put more on the table than the U.S. side had seen before.
Kudlow said he pressed China on its promise to make changes to tariff and non-tariff barriers immediately. The Chinese responded identifying Monday as its target. He said this commitment involved top deputies, and the U.S. team had never heard this level of commitment before. Well see, Kudlow said.

I do ‘feel’ there is action beneath the surface. China’s holding such a losing hand and can do much better (but they never have).
“We’ll see.” is all one can say.
Great news, but I refuse to believe China will follow through on dismantling NON-TARRIFF barriers.
They’re hard to document and liars LOVE to deny they exist.
China is FULL of liars.
Let’s sit back and SEE.
I wish we had held them to good behaviors at least a decade ago, but Trump is doing it now. He hasn’t made a misstep yet, and I expect him to successfully follow through.
China is over-leveraged, over-extended, and over-dependent on Western investment. They need to turn to their domestic issues and economy.
But they’re lying thugs.
The people of China should thank Trump for forcing their government to do what’s right for the Chinese people too.
I don’t know.
We are running the worst trade inbalance, in recorded world history.
Right now. The worst. Ever. Between any two countries.
Any time. Any place. Ever.
And it will get even worse this year, end of year
Worst ever.
"Brian McCarthy @briangobosox
And when China comes back in three months with a big bag full o nuthin no one is going to be in much of a position politically to oppose the tariffs. "
It takes years to rebuild industry destroyed by unfair trade practices. That's what Trump is doing but in the meantime we still have to buy all our computers from China creating a huge national security risk. Trump understands that risk and has his eye on the big prize: making computers here, e.g. phones. That's the goal of 25% tariffs. That's why the $200 B incliudes iPhones.
Those would be us globalists. At least me. I buy computers from China. I bought a refurbished iPhone and for all I know China refurbished it. That can't change as long as China is in charge of building the world's computers. But there are many other countries that really want that business, plus American companies. But it will take a while for them to build the factories.
