Seriously, I cannot think of anything I get useful in the mail anymore. I just renewed my auto registration online. All my bills are paid online. I order everything online. In a few weeks, I'll be submitting my tax returns online and any refund check will be direct deposit.
For all I care, the US Postal Service can just close up Wednesday for good. They do nothing useful anymore.

What the heck? During their busiest week of the year? That old bastard GHWB is ruining the holidays for everyone...but esp. for all the swamp creatures in Congress, etc., who can’t make the party rounds this week. Next week watch poor old Jimmuh kick off, and spoil New Year’s festivities for all of them!

It’s not standard procedure to shut down the stock market, I know that.

The USPS cant even get deliveries right on any day of the week, so this means nothing.

I thought this was satire.
Seriously? We stop delivering because of ex pres dying?
Why dont I recall this for Reagan? Never mind Ford?

Yep I wonder how old Jimmy Carter is doing? He’s 94 years old just as Bush was. He could pass on anytime.
Although Bill and Hillary are decades younger, I frankly would not be shocked to hear one day if either one was gone. Both of them seem to be in poor health.

Why not the day off work with pay?

The USPS cant even get deliveries right on any day of the week, so this means nothing. My wife and I brought a package to USPS to deliver to our daughter in another state. We used a 2-day Priority box and were charged accordingly. The postal guy at the counter said it'll get there by December 18th. My wife complained "Hey, today is the 3rd and the 18th is not two-day delivery!". The postal guy shrugged his shoulders, and said " by the 18th, it's the busy season.". So much for "Priority" mail.

They’re still rolling it out for us. Next up we must ‘walk’ to work on our knees and go without eating all day.

Right, I assume all postal employees will take the day off to spend in quiet contemplation of Bush's life and works.
What nonsense. Thankfully, most of us get nothing of interest via snail mail anymore.

Outrageous.
I get the postal working peons wanting a day off for any reason, and especially this time of year.
But their bosses are insane to do this.
And of course we peasants are the ones who get screwed by this in several ways. .....
....Which, come to think of it is probably the main reason they are doing it.
