Charles De Gaulle was a giant compared to the mommy-challenged Macron. If the 1968 riots brought down De Gaulle, then Macron soon could be toast.

The President is elected by the French people.

His party controls the National Assembly and the situation will likely continue to the end of Macron’s term.

Reducing presidential tenure from seven years to five years eliminated the threat of cohabitation because nowadays the President and Parliament are elected together.
