Illegal immigrant pulls gun on Border Patrol agent

Violence against Border Patrol agents continued to spiral this week with authorities reporting one agent held at gunpoint by an illegal immigrant in California, and two agents in Arizona facing attacks by hand.

In the California incident agents responded Monday morning to a report that two illegal immigrants had been detected crossing the border on foot. The first man was apprehended without any problem, but the second, Hector Rodriguez-Chavez, aimed a loaded Star Echeverria pistol at an agent.

The agent and Rodriguez struggled for the gun, and even the help of two other agents was not enough to pry the weapon from Rodriguez’s hand, the agents said in court documents.

Finally, one of the agents used his taser on Rodriguez, who dropped the pistol and stopped resisting.

Agents later found that he’d been deported back to Mexico at least five times before, dating back more than 20 years. His most recent ouster was in October 2017. He also had convictions in the U.S. for violent drug crimes and firearms offenses.

“Our agents’ vigilance prevented this dangerous person from illegally re-entering our communities,” said Rodney S. Scott, chief agent for the Border Patrol’s San Diego sector.

The Arizona assaults both happened Tuesday.

In one, agents were trying to arrest four illegal immigrants when one of them, a 25-year-old Guatemalan man, threw dirt in an agent’s face then swung his belt, trying to use the buckle as a weapon to strike the agent.

He was subdued and put into a vehicle, where he then spit in another agent’s face, authorities said.

So we caught this vile bastard criminal on 17% of his illegal entry attempts. While I’m happy we caught him, I’m VERY unhappy about a 17% capture rate. This is precisely why we need a wall. It would probably get the success rate up to 50%.

This would certainly justify the agent shooting him dead in self defense.

Should have reduced risk by simply shooting the armed intruder.

A Star Echeverria pistol would have been manufactured in Spain. Many Star models can now be purchased as Curio & Relic. They are similar to a Colt 1911 but in 9mm.

Force his mouth open, pull out his tongue and cut it off.

You do have to admire the Border Patrol agent’s restraint in this case.

I’m sure in their hearts they would like to do what you suggest. But, if they do, there’s the paperwork, and the investigations, and the hearings, and the lawsuits, and the (fill-in the blank) ad nauseum. All that is bad enough even when you don’t shot them. It’s worse if you do. And really worse if you kill one of them.

Better to subdue/taser the SOB if you can and run him through the courts for attempted murder, give the worthy a nice long prison sentence then deport him as an old man back to wherever.

One question:
Haven’t these Border Patrol Agents ever heard of the phrase: “He slipped and fell and hit his face against the pavement”; or “He slipped and fell and hit his face against a big rock”.
Or even “he made a break for it and fell into the ditch or the ravine”.
You just wait for the other WETBACKS to be loaded into the truck.
Any body spits on me and I consider that assault, that rat-bastard is going to get INJURED.

“This would certainly justify the agent shooting him dead in self defense.”

And it would have made a statement that illegals would understand in any language. Cross the border, resist, pull a weapon, get dead. Simple equation. And it would make a few think twice before threatening a border officer. Even the stupidest of people understand it isn’t worth trying to go somewhere if you are made dead painfully and can’t enjoy it. Not worth the trip. Plan B.
