Maybe the media wanted to throw the Trump Administration off from the real time the mob would reach our border. They were hoping this misinformation would cause troops not to be in place, reinforced obstructions (including razor wire) to be in place, heightened police forces and increased ICE presence. The mob now has a real logistics nightmare. If they move to another location, the helicopters will detect that and alert forces to move to the next attempt to jump the border. At the same time, food and shelter will not catch up to them. Tijuana temperatures at this time (11:00 PM) are 57 degrees with predictions of a low of 45 degrees.
