Given that May isn't a Brexit true believer, I don't see how she can be trusted to negotiate the Brexit deal.

Her heart just isn't in it to be tough enough when she really has to be.

On top of that, if the EU likes the deal May has negotiated, doesn't that, on the face of it, tell us that it's a bad deal for the UK.

The European Union controls its member-states territorial fishing waters centrally, sharing them out via a controversial quota system which grants British fishermen less than half the stocks in their own waters, destroying tens of thousands of jobs, lives, and families.
Similar to what the US did to its fishing fleets - different methods, same result.

Eliminating Natural Resource workers means no one is close to the land or water so the elites can tell the public anything they wish about natural resources or the weather ... like global warming. How would anyone else know the difference? One can look at the facts and figures, but no one has actual real time experience. Fishing on the lake, pond or beach for one or two fish is nothing like open ocean fishing for catches by the tonne.

Theresa May is a Judas Goat betraying the Brits into perpetual servitude to the EU. She should be turfed, no matter the consequences and Britain should do a hard Brexit and figure out how to cause the EU maximum pain should it try to force more reprisals on the Brits.

Do American fishermen catch a lot of the types of fish that Britons eat and are we allowed to sell them there?

May is a turncoat traitor deliberately dragging her feet in implementing the willl of the average British subject. Oops, maybe that’s the point she’s trying to make. Pulle g out of the EU should be as simple as reverting back to the British stays quo that was pre-EU. Any other proposed amendment to BREXIT is simply a delaying tactic designed to wear down the will and morale of its opponents.

It took centuries, but the French finally defeated the Anglais (English).

The British have spent their history alternately smacking and more recently rescuing the French. This is payback I guess.

On the eve of Paris falling Churchill proposed that France and the UK unite as one nation (with Britain holding the reins it goes without saying). I doubt the French have forgotten that insult.

OTOH the Brits also get to fish in other countries’ waters. Wasn’t there a recent showdown over French scallop grounds?

There’s a lot of hypocrisy and ignorance in the British fishing/EU question. The UK government chooses to put up its EU fishing quotas for auction - it doesn’t have to - and sells them to the highest bidders, which are a small number of large operators, among whom Spanish and French companies are prominent. There’s never been anything to prevent the UK quotas being allocated solely to UK boats.
