After 9-11, the borders were closed. People who took a day trip to TJ found themselves trapped in México for a week or so. Even on a good day, expect at least a 2-hour wait at San Ysidro. Just closing a few more lanes will cause the wait to be a lot longer. This is really going to mess with the economies of the border cities. Might get the Mexican government’s attention.

My daughter had to cross the border at San Luis Rio Colorado yesterday. She said it took over three hours to get back across. It was three hours of terror with crowds swarming around her car, people yelling, pushing, etc. Thank God nothing happened to her, and she got back ok.

“”what about security for american citizens crossing back into the us””

I can’t imagine any American citizens dumb enough to cross the border INTO Mexico now - why would they? Certainly not for the fun of it - or would they? Well, if that’s the case, then they may have a problem and why should we care?

How could anyone forget this? The way he got mixed up in traffic trying to get back to a CA highway from Mexico was clearly laid out and understandable but Mexico didn’t care.

I'm not particularly concerned about that. Assumption of the risk. Some folks like to run with the bulls in Pamplona. I'm not particularly concerned when the bulls win, either.

You got something against using caps to begin sentences?

IF American citizens have traveled INTO Mexico when all of this has been on the news for weeks, then SCREW them.

If they are being that stupid, they can fend for themselves.
