After years of loosening standards in the Obama years, and intense pressure for political correctness over combat readiness, I think it’s safe to say this isn’t your father’s Marine Corps.

I don't understand that either. I would put one Marine against 5 civilians any day, even after being maced. Something doesn't sound right. It did say they were reservists, so that might be a factor.
Targeting military personnel on US soil; does not get much worse than that.

NO MARINE would ever allow himself to get his ass kicked by civvies. My cousin is stationed near the DMZ and I doubt any antifa pu**y would ever land a punch on ANY in his platoon because I guarantee they will be sent to the ICU.

Those Marines weren’t following the Mattis Doctrine - “Be professional, be polite, have a plan to kill everyone you meet”.
Most likely, the DA will approve sending these thugs to “anger management” and having their arrest records expunged. In Philadelphia, these thugs will be seen as freedom fighters who struck a blow for freedom by standing up to these evil US Marines. In reality, the facts suggest these criminals committed aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats and robbery (taking the cell phone from the victim.) At what point does the DOJ take a hard look at these troublemakers? If it does, it may find that many of them are crossing State lines in order to engage in political violence. Thus, at a minimum, a federal grand jury should determine whether these thugs are engaging in racketeering activity.
I was at our Capitol, in uniform, asking one of our Socialist, Anti-American, Military-Loathing CongressPukes for a lousy $30K to keep an operation open a few months longer for military families. This was during Operation Desert Storm.
