Having lived in Toledo and various parts of Michigan I certainly concur. My dad used to do a lot of business in Houston. He once told me "don't ever move here unless you enjoy the feeling of wet underwear".

The humidity in mid-western cities is bad in the summer. Probably not as much as Houston, but still unbearably bad... Humidity is horrible in Houston. Probably borne on warm/hot breezes from the Gulf.
