de Blasio, citing 'socialistic impulse,' wants more government control of NYC property

Mayor Bill de Blasio cited his "socialistic impulse" in describing an ideal world where New York City government has control over all land and buildings in his city.

“That’s a world I’d love to see, and I think what we have, in this city at least, are people who would love to have the New Deal back, on one level,” he said. “They’d love to have a very, very powerful government, including a federal government, involved in directly addressing their day-to-day reality.”

New York and CA are the only reasons you need for the Electoral College.

This talk has got to hurt NYC property values if it gets more serious.

at least he is reasonably honest about his communist dictatorship aspirations

anyone with any brains will get the F out of NYC, ASAP, before he utterly destroys it

When I take over the USA I will make Mr. De Blasio happy by placing him in a concentration camp where the guards will oblige him by directly addressing his day-to-day reality.

Californication is already SNAFU....
the D’s even have the ballot rigged so that.. in most election contests, the CA voters only get to choose between two leftist communistic D candidates...no R’s on the ballots

and.. the R’s have rolled over and died... not even any protests, nothing....

idea...since the GOP is dead in CA, maybe people could find the funding to form a new (real) party?

De Blasio is an example of why we can never have a peaceful separation of the US into freedom and socialist subject components. Any free state would become a target of all those who want government to determine every aspect of your life.

The New York City Housing Authority allegedly fights lead claims in public housing - by denying them.

Its a great irony

Marxist Mayor in NY City thrives ONLY because he sits in the world center for (crony) capitalist financial trading. The vast majority of the Marxist’s tax revenue probably comes from 1000 highly connected, powerful and insider financial-corporate types.

Its the brief and abstract description of how all socialism is insider-dealing and cronyism.

Yea - ask the daily riders of the NYC subway system or those living in NYCHA housing if they want any more of NYC government involved in directly addressing their day to day reality. Hell, this idiot and his commissars couldn't even handle 4 inches of snow last week without getting the city shut down.

I read somewhere that 80% of the NYC budget comes from the taxes od 50,000 households. I wonder if this number is shrinking, growing or remaining constant. You would think it would be shrinking.

Problem is, the dems outnumber them 2.5-1. Unless it splits into two, CA is forever lost.

yes. and no.
there is zero visible conservative (or even GOP-e) campaigning, altho Cox did a little bit to his credit, it was dwarfed by the leftist propaganda campaigning 24/7/365

there are millions and millions of voters who could vote for something other than commie-leftist DNC puppet candidates...
IF THEY HAD A VIABLE CHOICE

these include people who are tired of paying the nation’s highest taxes (maybe excepting NYC), and living under the most oppressive (over=regulated) dictatorial regime, and the nighest cost of living (as consequence of the above)....
and worst traffic nightmares (almost zero new roads built in last 40 years while population has tripled), shitty govt services (figure 3 to 5 days on line just at the dmv for a transaction they could let you do from home on internet)

and pretty awful schools in most towns, too

pay the most, have the least freedom... and get the worst services

not to mention the rampant immorality, endorsed and promoted by the leftist politicos

just saying, there are many voters who COULD vote for something else, better...if the R’s (or someone) would run serious campaigns

there’s no such thing as a free lunch.
California is very winnable, imho...with honest, vigorous campaigning effort

no effort, no wins.
that’s guaranteed.

Just like Brussels sprouts, I'll be glad to give my share to someone who wants it. Of course he should pick up the bill for it too.
