“In the midterm elections, a number of Democratic candidates hostile to Israel and Jews won seats – some in districts with significant Jewish populations.”

I don't know the absolute accuracy of the quoted statement, but it is very troubling that a fair number of the American Jewish community are lukewarm about Israel - and some even anti-Israel. It's also troubling that the American Jewish vote is near monolithic for the Democrats.

The Jewish population in America is almost as high as in Israel, and is a very high percentage of the total population of Jews in the world. Thus, through the policies and politicians they support in the US, the Jewish population in America can have a very significant effect on all Jews throughout the world. In my opinion, this potential effect on Jews throughout the world should be a very serious consideration of American Jewish voters.

Israel is not even on the radar of American Jewry. It’s truly amazing.
