He’d better do it before the Rats introduce the Maduro Protection Act.

Stay the hell out of it. The sh*t is going to hit the fan soon enough and its going to be ugly. If we get involved we will wind up owning that mess.

“Hitting their oil sales market through sanctions would be ineffective for two reasons. First, too many other nations would refuse to participate, particularly Russia and China. And second, their oil industry has pretty much imploded anyway.”

Or, perhaps, the fact that the U.S. is now producing copious amounts of oil and gas (and coal) has something to do with the recent implosion of the price of oil worldwide. More supply = lower prices. Ironically, this means much less* money for suppliers. (Oil from some of Alberta’s oil sands now costs more to extract, process, and ship, than it’s worth.) That’s got to be hurting Venezuela more. And Iran. And Russia. It’s like OPEC in reverse. No sanctions required.

* Price inelasticity, and all that.

Trust our bank with your 550 million dollars worth of gold so we can steal it.

Theft by rationalization.

freezing his assets in the Bank of London. (Washington Post)

That link actually is to the Washington Times, not the Post.

A small civil conflagration in Venez, with the opposition turning to the US for help -- a la Panama -- would absolutely ensure someone's re-election, and I don't mean Maduro...

I would suggest an immediate rescue mission headed by newly-elected Congresscritter Occasional-Cortex to straighten things out down there in Venezuela.

Didn’t President Trump make the threat of sending U.S. troops into Venezuela?

Cool, let’s destabilize another country in Latin America so the Democrats can take in millions of more refugees.

“But might there be some other way we could help knock their dictator Nicolas Maduro off his perch and give the people of that nation an opening to take back their government?”

No. Just keep them away from here. We have no responsibility to those people...none.

Nope Maduro is turning to China.

Now that the Democrats and Globalists are being allowed to steal the House of Representatives the Trump agenda will stalled.

You know, I also had this other kinda crazy idea. Howzabout we finish, say... half of the 6 or 7 wars we have going on, and straighten out a few very serious problems here in the US of A before we go look for a new war and a whole new theater of operations?

16 tons of gold is worth $625 million at today's closing price of $1,222 per ounce.

In a country of 31 million people, that works out to about $20 per person!

Bottom Line...

If Maduro plans to live through the economic catastrophe he has created, he better invest all $625 million in his Palace Guard and the government bureaucrats who support him.

We could cut off something else.

If makes me sick to think back in 2003 or whenever it was, they had Chavez!! All they had to do was put him against a wall. But they didn’t and his loyalists freed him. 15 years later the country is still suffering under his protege.
