Grassley Steps Down from Judiciary Committee...Paving Way for Lindsey Graham?
Townhall.com ^ | November 16, 2018 | Cortney O'Brien

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) is stepping down as chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee and stepping up to lead the Senate Finance Committee.

Now: @ChuckGrassley announces he will opt to serve as chairman of the Senate Finance Committee next Congress, meaning @LindseyGrahamSC would be in line for chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. pic.twitter.com/69FASxl2rz— Todd Ruger (@ToddRuger) November 16, 2018

Grassley said he's switching committees to help steer the booming economy.

“The economy is better than it’s been in years and there’s a sense of optimism about the future of our country that people haven’t felt in a long time thanks to the pro-growth policies of a Republican President and a Republican majority in Congress,” Grassley said. “Looking ahead, at the Finance Committee, I want to continue to work to make sure that as many Americans as possible get to experience this good economy for themselves." (Politico)

As mentioned in the tweet above, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is waiting in the wings to become the chair of the Judiciary Committee. It seems he already has his priorities in order.

"If I’m chairman next year, we’re going to judges, judges, and more judges," Graham told Fox News host Sean Hannity this week.

If I am fortunate enough to be selected by my colleagues to serve as Chairman, I will push for the appointment and Senate confirmation of highly qualified conservative judges to the federal bench and aggressive oversight of the Department of Justice and FBI. https://t.co/aGu4bXX1Hq— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) November 16, 2018

Graham was one of the loudest voices during the testy confirmation hearings for now Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. He lambasted his Democratic colleagues for putting the nominee through "hell." It was "the most unethical sham" he'd seen since entering politics.

Graham also plans to look into the FBI’s investigations into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails. Graham is also one of several Republicans who have asked for a second special counsel in the Russia probe, particularly after anti-Trump texts from former FBI agent Peter Strzok and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page surfaced.

Now, the motivation for Lindsey 2.0 starts to come into focus. It’s fine with me, if he’s genuine. I do fear he may not be.

Can’t they get Jeff Flake off the committee?

Flake has made it clear he will be no ally of republicans in 2020.

“If we get the new and improved Lindsay bring it on! I do believe the Dems have done pissed Lindsay off.”

More likely he is up for reelection two years from now and he saw what happened to Corker and Flake. He had serious opposition in the last election. So this is just plain self preservation. He is still any way an open borders, rino traitor, quisling and not to be trusted.

Grassley should replace Burr, and Burr should then be launched into the sun.

His re-election is not in question. He was the principle reason Kavaunaugh was confirmed. When it came time to act he delivered.

No rant given here would top Senator Graham’s indictment of the Demons, it was brilliant, one of the greatest speeches ever given to the Senate. I could not believe what I was watching. All alleged sins are forgiven.

It was a rare example of fury tied to conviction tied to insight. If you have not seen it, you should.

“His reelection is not in question.”

His reelection is not in question now due to his handling of our business recently. But his renomination was in doubt as it was 4 years ago when he drew 2 high level opponents. I do not trust him. I do not trust anyone of the Gang of 8 who gave us the biggest threat to our country since Pearl Harbor. Can't you people realize that if we don't stop this business of turning our country into a third world toilet and a Democrat majority everything is lost?

He’s come a long way from voting for McMullin in 2016 and saying
“I couldn’t go where Donald Trump wanted to take the USA & GOP.”

You have no idea of my beliefs as regards Illegalism.

The greatest threat to our country since Pearl Harbor was the uncontrolled Deep State which believes it has the right to go against the People and Constitution.

Nor do I need your guidance as regards the future.
