Violence breaks out at Tijuana border as migrant caravan arrives to already crowded city

Hundreds of people who arrived in Tijuana with the first wave of the migrant caravan planned to spend Wednesday night in a makeshift camp by the Pacific Ocean, steps from the tall border fence that separates Mexico and the United States.

But those plans shifted in the evening, after local and state officials opened a temporary shelter – and about 300 local residents gathered by the encampment to demand the migrants leave the upscale Playas de Tijuana neighborhood and go to the facility.

During a confrontation that lasted more than three hours, area residents sang the Mexican national anthem and waved Mexican flags. They chanted “Mexico! Mexico!” each time a bus transporting migrants left the beach for the temporary shelter. Mostly women and children went to the shelters, while young men from the caravan said they were determined to stay together at the beach...

Another reason I detest Mexicans. Bloody hypocrites. They don’t mind breaking into our country and demanding things but when someone does it to them they start howling.

Hey, if they want to jump in and tell those assholes they don’t want them in their nation, they’ve got my permission.

When Mexican citizens do what we should be doing, it lends credence to the idea we’re not the racists they make us out to be.

Even Hispanics don’t like being overrun by Hispanics.

Hypocrites, all of them. Mexicans especially. I've worked with enough of them and people from all over Central and South America in my life and the hostility , racism and bigotry they show and exercise against each other is remarkable, to say the least. Mexicans are the worst. They seem to feel that because they share a border with the US that somehow this makes them a sort of Americans by proxy and entitled to first dibs on getting in here and as such they make sure they do the utmost to keep others from getting in here. That's because Mexico is now almost entirely dependent on the remittances sent back from their people here. Some $30 billion a year is taken out of our economy. Without that, Mexico's economy would collapse and that would lead to a massive flood of people across the border into the US. I think that's probably the reason Washington won't crack down on illegal immigration. The tsunami of people fleeing Mexico into the US would be over whelming.

You’ve got a different perspective than I do. I have not dealt with folks all over Central America and Mexico. I have had family and community dealings with people who have Mexican ancestry.

The ones I come into contact with are some really great people.

The relatives of my former wife were stridently against illegal immigration. My groundskeeper was a Conservative, a great guy.

Some of the Hispanic front end help people at restaurants I frequent a really nice people.

I know that illegals and other Hispanics are problematic.

Not going to argue against that.

Go to their countries, as friends of mine have and that ‘’nice’’ attitude changes. The majority of these people have grown up being envious of and hating America and Americans. They don’t want to be seen in their own countries as being nice to the gringos. The damnable thing here is Mexico is not a poor country. It’s the richest country in Latin America. Per capita there are more billionaires living in Mexico than any other Western nation. What Mexico is, in reality, is a racist , class ridden kleptocracy where it’s politicians steal everything in sight and blame The United States. As for Honduras and Guatemala, these were , up until a decade ago, some of the most socially stable and economically and agriculturally productive countries in Latin America until their peoples fell under the siren song of socialism.

They really came to believe the promise of ‘’Utopia’’. That magic place where no one works and everyone eats. And when Utopia didn’t arrive, rather then fix their countries they decided that we, ‘’the Gringos’’ owe them because somehow we’re to blame. I’m sorry but I despise these people. Their nothing but pugnacious, arrogant beggars.

We can never have too much razor wire used with our border fences. All Israel borders use stacked pylons of razor wire to keep the Muzz out. And they are kinda the world authorities on border fences and walls.

Great photos razor wire in action.

I guess the people laying out the wire didn’t want to get their feet wet.

If the razor wire doesn't get you the sharks will

In any case, I read that the water there is heavily polluted with Mexican raw sewage.

Tijuana is DISGUSTING!!!! I always get dragged there by people from out of state who want to say they “have been to Mexico”.

I tell them they’ll hate it and am overturned. We get there and THEY WANT TO LEAVE!

If you go further down the coast, but Tijuana NO!

They would still have to be held for their hearing, if not caught and released.
