Rick Perry: We Shouldn't Let Russia Use Energy as a Weapon

“We should no longer allow the Kremlin to use energy as a weapon,” Rick Perry told a news conference in Budapest...

The Trump administration worked to open up the European energy market, which Russia has long dominated.

America's lobbying efforts have paid off in Poland and Germany.

Last Thursday, Poland signed a 24-year deal to buy liquified natural gas (LNG) from the United States during a visit from Perry.

It was the second major deal for U.S. LNG that the country has signed in the last few months.

Weeks prior, German Chancellor Angela Merkel began making moves to open up her country's energy market to U.S. gas companies, who have long been kept out by high infrastructure costs.

Under her direction, Berlin will co-finance a $576 million liquified natural gas (LNG) shipping terminal in northern Germany.

Ryan Zinke told some meeting in Pittsburgh a few months back that the United States would blockade Russian energy exports.

This sounds like a similar theme coming from Mr. Perry.

Energy has long been used as LEVERAGE in foreign negotiations. Its just now liberal fools hamper their own countries due to their religious belief in glowbull warming.

Sounds like Perry was another good pick by Trump. He’s in line with the administration.

That’s what secretaries do.

Could he beat Beto in 2020. Cornyn won’t. His only hope is Beto going for the big one.

Europeans are sitting on 400 years worth of energy in coal deposits and refuse to mine this coal.

Isn't gas very price competitive, esp. if the coal has high sulfur content & requires a lot of cleaning up? I can also imagine that if (if) the coal would come out of strip mines, the cost of the land reclamation in Europe would be quite high.

Isn’t fascism great? At least it is not US taxpayers who pay the bill.
