Unfortunately, Goldwater was so radically pro-abort (and his wives big time boosters of Planned Barrenhood) that he nearly lost reelection in 1980 to a pro-life Democrat.

Flake was a one-term senator, despised by both parties.

McCain was a RINO who served over 30 years. I don’t think he ever had a close race. The last true Republican to be elected from Arizona was John Kyl. The state has historically elected democrats or wishy-washy republicans. Doucy should appoint Ward to McCain’s old seat. It’s the only way she’ll become a senator from Arizona.
