I was in Germany for 4 years in the 80s. Some Germans were saying it back then. I am sure it’s much worse now, but this is not new.

I live in Spain, where the newly elected Socialist government put out the welcome mat for new migrants, even offering free health care and possible voting rights. I am trying to figure out which European success story they are trying to copy. Sweden? Belgium? France? Germany? It’s mystifying. Spain already has a lot of problems with massive debt and lingering high unemployment so you would think the last thing they need is more unskilled poor people. Apparently they have a secret plan.

Merkel and the EU needed to show the world alternative soft power leadership AGAINST the USA. They got that, on steroids. Trump pushed them on NATO and they still haven’t fully ponied up nor will they ever.
