I’m trying to figure out why they are mad at Australia? UN actions? Sanctions? Local terrorism or anti-islam laws?

I haven’t heard much from down under, would you happen to know?

ISIS is a fundamental Islamic organization. That is they will do what Allah wants done, and will follow the examples set by Allah's prophet Muhammad.

Anyone who is not a Muslim must be subjugated, converted to Islam or killed.
This is spelled out in the Koran, the Hadiths and the examples set by Muhammad.

Australians, like us and the Europeans are not Muslims and show no inclination to become Muslims. So we will be targeted until we submit to Islam. - Tom

One of the Islamic advocacy groups In Australia were quick to go after the Australian headlines stating that it breached the Press Council's guidelines on the use of religious terms in headlines. ‬

The killer was a Somali man known to ASIO and that his relative was arrested last year on 'terrorism charges'...

I can’t think of anything recent and specific.

We’re an ally of the United States, and a nation that comes from a Christian background and those two things alone are enough to make us a target for these mongrel dogs.

The Bali Bombing in 2002 that killed 88 Australians involved specifically targeting Australians.

The Australian Embassy in Jakarta was bombed in 2004.

Muslim terror attacks on Australia are not new.

Mostly it comes down to simply being a friend to the United States who these scum see as ‘The Great Satan’ and therefore see us as a ‘Lesser Satan’.

But it’s not entirely that.

In the late 1990s, Australia lead a military intervention (the US was one of a number of allies who supported us in that) to secure the independence of East Timor (a largely Catholic country) from Indonesian (a largely Muslim country) rule. The fact that the Indonesian government was fairly cooperative (it was somewhat reluctantly granting independence, but it was) doesn’t change the fact that to some of these Muslim maniacs, we’re an enemy in our own right.

And if you want to go back far enough - Australia’s first internationally significant military operation was against Turkey in 1915 - again, against a Muslim nation. The Turks, for the most part, don’t have a major problem with us - they let us carry out major commemorations on their soil every year - but to Muslim extremists, we’ve been their enemy quite a long time.

And speaking as a retired officer of the Royal Australian Navy - I’m proud to be their enemy. And proud to be a friend and ally of the United States.

To the terrorists, I say, it simply. Bring it on, you bastards.
