New York Times: Jim Acosta has First Amendment Right to Touch Women
Front Page ^ | November 9, 2018 | Daniel Greenfield

After Hollywood, the mainstream media had the worst #MeToo record. Here's another reminder of that as the media circles the wagons in defense of Jim Acosta's ugly scene. It's not news that CNN was bound to back Acosta. But the rest of the media decided that Acosta's latest narcissistic tantrum was the hill to die on. For the First Amendment.

As Times White House reporter Julie Davis tweeted on Thursday, “@Acosta's behavior here, like it or not, does not disqualify him from the First Amendment-protected freedom to ask questions. Otherwise, how are we different from a place that has no freedom of the press at all?”

Yes, how we are different than North Korea?

If Jim Acosta loses his hard pass, we might as well be Turkey and lock up hundreds of journalists. It's exactly the same thing.

Is there no one else at CNN who can use that pass?

It's either Jim Acosta or we're North Korea?

Interesting post....

So, since Trump was talking to a sport reporter when he said, “I just grab them by their pu$$y.” His statement is protected and thus...no big deal.

So Acosta’s actions are not a reflection of his character.
Got it.

If I can’t get in to the White House press room and ask questions, where are my first amendment rights? Are his superior to mine because he’s a journalist? Does the constitution bestow its benefits only on discrete classes of Americans?

He can ask all the questions he wants from the sidewalk on Pennsylvania Avenue. And as an added bonus, if he brings his own microphone he won’t have to beat up any interns to keep it.

Why isn’t the #metoo squawking about acosta’s manhandling of a woman fulfilling her job requirements?

The NYTs proves once again that it has no ethics and absolutely no understanding of our Constitution or the 1st Amendment. The NYT is a group of absolutely pathetic people who do not deserve to breath the same air as real Americans.

No one has the right to touch anyone else.

Now some jobs require it but its either understood or just part of the job, like guards and security, etc.

The misinformation never stops.

Of course by making this claim, they stipulate to what Acosta did, in order to defend him.

The ignorance on display here is massive.

The First Amendment offers no such protection. Further, what Acosta did was wrong. Offering up excuses, actually telegraphs you think he actually did overstep his bounds, and he needs to be defended for it.

There are three really stupid reasons, what the NYT did here was just knuckle-dragging dumb.

This is right in line with their [MSM] assertion during the Clinton fiasco that you get ‘one free feel’................

It would probably be a good idea for socialists to look up the actual definition of assault.

Well, I wouldn’t switch in my heart. I’d talk left, grab my fill, and vote right.

It would be the inverse to the Democrat approach of sounding “not crazy”, or tough on borders, or not virulently pro-gun-control or pro partial birth abortion.

Grab now, vote later.

First they said he didnt touch her.

So now why the backpedal, and no apology for the video proving them wrong about him touching her?

Yeah, you know why.

Nobody has a right to go to the White House as a guest and then treat the host with disrespect.

His pushing away the intern was just icing on the cake. His refusal to sit down and shut up when ordered to do so by the President of the United States was more than enough reason for him to be completely banned from being within 1000 yards of the president ever again.

I’m sick and tired of the Mainstream media treating DJT as being unworthy of their respect. They disrespect all Americans when they do that.

You hit the MAGIC words..”Obama press conference”. Whether the individual “journalist” respected “PRESIDENT” Obama or no, they showed proper respect for man’s position.
When they were majoring in “FAKE NEWS” they must have cut the classes in “Manners 101.”

I’ve seen one or two FReepers claiming the same.

this is really an easy one. He’s been suspended for touching a female aid.

Trump is a negotiator. He’s not going to let the guy back unless he wins some concessions. That being that there will be strict rules regarding the questioning of the president, for one thing.

To be sure, he will not win. He will grovel on his hands and knees before he’s let back in.

CNN will need to provide more fair coverage to Trump.

In summary, as usual Trump will lose no sleep over this, as Acosta and company will party and worry themselves.

Acosta sees his chance to be the Dan Rather going quickly down the tubes.

Trump would be unwise to let him without getting something from CNN in return.

Oh, one last thing. One more strike and the guy is out for good.
