Jordan Peterson is of interest to many Freepers and here he delivers a great message to the Democrats in term the standards of decency and civility that they should follow:

This is probably going out to his younger followers, of which he has many, for the purposes of educating them on where the Democrat party is falling short. I hope they are curious and listen.

I don’t understand why he’s doing this. I wish he’d stay out of politics, especially U.S. politics, since he quite obviously knows nothing of the history of the Democrat party.

I think he sees the Democrats going astray and certainly not the people of years ago, like the JFKs. I think he sees the Marxist element in the Democrats, in the cultural wars where the left can’t compromise and just want power by any means. It’s the left given over to socialism/communism, where tribalism means class struggle to bring down capitalism. You’re right that he may be unaware — unaware of the KKK, Jim Crow, the Southern Democrats and other unsavory parts of their history. I think he is probably seeing only the good aspects of the Democrats, an idealized version, but he is looking to return to an era of civility — where they can admit that they were wrong.
