That sounded good when I was 40. Not so much any longer. I have a friend who married a man 25 years her senior when she was 35. Its not so hot now that he is 85. They love each other, but it is a tough road.
I would not do that to a younger woman I loved.
My late father-in-law married his second wife, my current mother-in-law, when he was 48 and she was 28. She became my wife’s step Mom. He passed in his early 60’s. She and he were quite happy together, they adored each other.
When he passed a couple of years later she remarried and then he passed from cancer and she never remarried. She is still a strikingly beautiful woman in her early 60’s now.
The rule of thumb is: Half your age plus 7.
