Acting AG Whitaker To Take Authority On Mueller Probe From Rosenstein
Daily Caller ^ | 11-7-2018 | Hanna Bogorowski

Posted on 11/07/2018 2:02:31 PM PST by tcrlaf

The Justice Department stated Wednesday that acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker will overtake supervision of special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

President Donald Trump fired Attorney General Jeff Sessions Wednesday afternoon and replaced him with Whitaker, Sessions’ chief of staff.

We are pleased to announce that Matthew G. Whitaker, Chief of Staff to Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the Department of Justice, will become our new Acting Attorney General of the United States. He will serve our Country well….

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 7, 2018

Sessions recused himself from the Russia probe in March 2017, much to President Donald Trump’s chagrin.

This put the Russia probe in Rosenstein’s hands, but after Wednesday’s development, it was unclear who would now supervise the probe with Sessions gone.

“The Acting Attorney General is in charge of all matters under the purview of the Department of Justice,” Sarah Isgur Flores, director of public affairs at the DOJ told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Mueller needs to be in the line of indicted RAT scammers headed for jail!

Mueller’s investigation of Trump is going too far
CNN ^ | Sun August 6, 2017 | Matthew Whitiker (New Attorney General)
FR Posted on 11/7/2018, 3:09:51 PM by 11th_VA

(CNN)Last month, when President Donald Trump was asked by The New York Times if special counsel Robert Mueller would be crossing a line if he started investigating the finances of Trump and his family, the President said, “I think that’s a violation. Look, this is about Russia.” The President is absolutely correct. Mueller has come up to a red line in the Russia 2016 election-meddling investigation that he is dangerously close to crossing. According to a CNN article, Mueller’s investigators could be looking into financial records relating to the Trump Organization that are unrelated to the 2016 election. According to these reports, “sources described an investigation that has widened to focus on possible financial crimes, some unconnected to the 2016 election.” The piece goes on to cite law enforcement sources who say non-Russia-related leads that “involve Trump associates” are being referred to the special counsel “to encourage subjects of the investigation to cooperate.”

This information is deeply concerning to me. It does not take a lawyer or even a former federal prosecutor like myself to conclude that investigating Donald Trump’s finances or his family’s finances falls completely outside of the realm of his 2016 campaign and allegations that the campaign coordinated with the Russian government or anyone else. That goes beyond the scope of the appointment of the special counsel...

President Trump just sucked ALL the Oxygen out of the room concerning the Dems’ takeover of the House. As well as inducing a nuclear pucker factor on them.

Wait just a minute. That op-ed shows that Whitiker has an opinion on the probe and its scope. Based in reason and common sense.

HE MUST RECUSE! /s

He was always going to clean house at DOJ after the midterms.

Democrats got caught off guard and there’s nothing they can do about it.

Trust Sessions! - Q

I know this is just 22D chess but the acting performance is outstanding. I mean the firing of Sessions makes the rift seem quite legitimate. Well played! /s

Whitaker could just advise Muller to limit scope of investigation, unredact all docs and have the report on his desk by Thanksgiving.

Let the House dems lose their minds and bladders in the middle of the street.

He ran for Iowa State Treasurer in 2002 and has been interested in other elective offices but unsuccessful in getting the nomination.

Rosenstein actually illegally (unconstitutionally) appointed Mueller. An “asst AG” cannot do that, only the AG. So this thing has been a farce from the beginning.

WaPo had an editorial saying that losing the House in the midterms would be good for Trump in 2020. He could blame pelosi and the dems for not making progress.

I see a lot of you ragging on Sessions about his Job Performance,I would like to remind you that NOBODY in the Leadership of either Party nor has anyone from the CIA,NSA,FBI,DOJ or any other Political Appointee’s have been :
Questioned
Charged
Arrested
or Prosecuted.

Jeff Sessions has DONE HIS JOB WELL!!!

I have maintained since day 1 that he was the Original Deep Plant sent there to COVER UP all the Treasonous Crimes committed by the aforementioned. For that he has done a Great Job.

Quisling Bastards, All of them.

Huber was just a scam appointment to take pressure off Sessions so
Sessions would not have to appoint a Special Council.

And you would be correct. It was obvious what sessions was doing when he first recused himself. His pick of RR as his DAG, his recusal and the subsequent appointment of the mueller coup did not happen by chance. It was orchestrated.

The fact that nearly everyone in the GOP backed sessions and mueller against Trump, tells us how far up the sh!t creek this country is.
