It looks like President Trump’s decision to focus more heavily on US Senate races than on the House was the right call, and it’s paying off.

FROM ANOTHER THREAD and FREEPER willk:

First midterm election for new President:

Clinton 1994

House -54
Senate -8

Obama 2010

House -63
Senate -6

Trump 2018

House -30 (roughly)
Senate +4 or +5”

Obama and Clinton didn’t have to deal with 40 anti-Trumpers retiring. Otherwise Trump would have probably maintained the house too.

He knew that with 40 members of the R’s retiring most were Never Trumpers and were trying to throw the midterms for the Dems, redistricting, and just pure history working against him.
Tonight could have been worst.

100% correct.

He took the safer investment option and it paid off.

With the senate safely secured for the next two years and RINO Ryan gone, Trump is now free to thrash and pummel pelosi and the house members and start building up pro Trump candidates in winnable seats for 2020.
