Thank you Alabama
Nice that there is some good news tonight.
Was proud to vote for such a great step.
I wonder if the Supreme Court will overturn it like they did to California Voters THREE TIMES concerning marriage between a man and woman
Great news
I was so happy to see that amendment on our ballots.
It was a no-brainer to vote “Yes”.
I think this State constitutional amendment is meant to get the issue before SCOTUS. Perhaps by then one of the Liberal Justices will have been replaced another Trump appointee. Thank goodness the Republicans increased their majority in the Senate.
Is it alive. Simple question, simple answer.
Fantastic news.
Overturning is less likely now with Trump’s 2 new picks.
you’re welcome.
OK, I’ve just added one more state to my list of of possible retirement locations.
Wow! Way to go, Alabama! That does give hope to tonight’s results. (this morning’s results, I should say).
Why elect that baby killer Senator then?
Me too! Made my heart happy to fill in that oval!
Because Roy Moore was trashed by media and others. Breaks my heart that was done to such a fine Christian man...sigh
Ironically amendment also passed allowing 10 Commandments to be displayed in government places...
The Alabama Constitution also says life begins at the moment of conception. The Alabama Supreme Court also elected a Chief Justice to replace Roy Moore. Hes Justice Tom Parker, whos an old friend of Moores and just as conservative. The Alabama Supreme Court is all republicans.
Well, we had to do something to make up for Doug Jones.
We also did this for some reason:
Amendment 1
“Providing for certain religious rights and liberties; authorizing the display of the Ten Commandments on state property and property owned or administrated by a public school or public body; and prohibiting the expenditure of public funds in defense of the constitutionality of this amendment.”
The amendment would put the right of schools and public agencies to display the Ten Commandments in public settings in the state constitution.
Yes 72%
No 28%
Imagine having a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. No matter what your age. What a concept.
