Motel 6 will pay up to $7.6 million to Hispanic guests to settle a proposed class-action lawsuit claiming that it violated their privacy by regularly providing guest lists to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
The Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) filed the lawsuit after the Phoenix New Times said ICE agents had arrested 20 people over six months at Motel 6s in Arizona, using guest lists to target people by national origin.
Motel 6 fully recognizes the seriousness of the situation and accepts full responsibility for both compensating those who were harmed and taking the necessary steps to ensure that we protect the privacy of our guests, Motel 6 and MALDEF said in a joint statement.
Terms of the preliminary settlement with eight Hispanic plaintiffs - seven from Arizona and one from Washington state - were disclosed in a Nov. 2 filing with the federal court in Phoenix.

So you can be sued civilly for complying with Federal Law?
Hello, SCOTUS??
and notify ICE.
In Europe, usually you have to show your passports (some hotels even will keep your passports until you check out), and the hotel will register your names with the local police.
See something, say something. Pay something!
What about giving money to white & black guests too?
There may be legal problems with giving only one group money.
IT’S PUBLIC INFORMATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In the old days of my youth, guests had to place their names in a guest register, which had to be made available to law enforcement.
What right to privacy for illegal alien invaders?
Not now. It appears 6 wimped out, probably on advice of counsel???
From the article:
...to settle a proposed class-action lawsuit claiming...
"See something, say something" (and then pay through the nose).
I’ve never seen a Motel 6 that wasn’t run by an Indian national.

Ever travel in Europe? Always have to show ID and it is reported. Friend who previously lived in Switzerland had an unpaid speeding ticket (camera based) from just prior to when he moved back to the US went back to visit. A few hours after checking into a hotel, the local police showed up and demanded immediate payment or face arrest.

Were they from Arizona and Washington, or were they from another country, and here illegally?
If they are citizens, or here legally, there is a problem.
Why do illegals aliens have any rights in this Republic except for a right to a quick deportation?
The book Day of the Jackel by forseith I believe detailed that at length.
Hell they should be given an award!
Motel 6 and other economy hotels are used by work crews from Central America. You can tell by the types of vehicles parked there. A contractor pays for the rooms, and the "crew" goes from job to job, usually being able to return "home" on the weekend (if the family is in fact, in the United States), or they continue to work; depending on what the contractor is running.
E-Verify doesn't work in the general contracting and landscaping businesses because the contractor doesn't report who his crew is.
ID? They use international driver's license, not passports.
Does No-Tell 6 also cover for drug dealers/abusers and prostitutes?
how do you know they aren’t US citizens?
many are, you know.
