A fish and chips shop in Australia has become the subject of a heated debate, with some calling for a boycott of the popular spot, because of its name.
The Battered Wife, in Innisfail, Queensland, has sparked an intense argument on social media about whether or not the name is appropriate.
The Red Heart Campaign, an organization that raises awareness about domestic violence against women and children in the country, called out the business on Facebook Monday.
“In a year where we have lost 67 women and 18 kids to murder and manslaughter, and while hundreds of thousands of women are being ‘battered’ by their partners across the country, these clowns thought it appropriate to make a joke out of domestic violence...

I was in a discount bakery outlet the other day, and saw a collection of “Andy Capp Hot Fries.” Haven’t seen those in a while.
I remembered that Andy Capp was a lovable cockney drunk who would give his wife a black eye when stepped out of line.
I though political correctness had killed off the brand.

Wouldn’t “The Battered Haddock” or “The Battered Cod” or “The Battered Hake” have been more appropriate?
I don’t think I’d like to patronize a shop called “The Ball-Less Cuckold” either.

Well, since she was a battered wife and suffered through DV she thought she would name it after herself to raise awareness.
I suggest they change it to the “Bearded Clam”...
You should read the article - it explains everything. The name is perfectly appropriate.
Friggin’ Lefties...always got a bone to pick with someone.
Although, as a big fan of fish’n chips, I’d eat there even if she named it “Hillary Smells of Fish”. The food looked great.
