You have no idea how scary this can be.

Had a junkie pounding on my back (glass) door. Even after I screamed I had a weapon and would shoot him if he entered, he kept pounding away.

My wife called the local PD - the dispatcher kept asking if it was a drunk... I finally yelled at her to say I had a loaded weapon pointed at the door and was ready to fire....

Cops showed up FIVE minutes later.

The found the guy hiding in the bushes next door - naked. the one cop took the a-hole away and the other cops were laughing.

I went outside and asked the lead officer what was so funny - and would he still be laughing if I had shot the guy? The laughing stopped there.

The next morning we found the guy’s crack pipe in our garden flowers.

We found out later, the gay had been smoking crack / humping somebody’s old lady at a house down the street when the woman’s husband showed up early from work....

This was several years ago - Anchorage has turned into a real cesspit since then...

The officers should take that seriously. You were in trouble both physically and legally in the terrible anti-gun climate these days.

A story that haunts me is Theodore Wafer (please google) in Michigan. Many times teen thugs make a diversion at the front door demanding to talk to owner. Then he hears breaking glass in rear door or kitchen window. Too late, thugs barged in and held him at knife and gunpoint. Several crimes like that before Wafer’s story. Didn’t apply to his case.

Wafer lived alone and had been victim of teen vandals hurting his car recently. He heard pounding on front door at night. Heard young woman howling, screaming, babbling loudly on and on. Couldn’t find his cell phone to call 911. Misplaced it. Panicked. Opened door a little and wildly agitated woman was demanding to come in and screaming again and again at him. He got a shotgun and said to leave. She pushed at door and gun when off. He said it was an accident. Shot went into her on porch at outer edge of doorstep.

Ending: He is in prison for many years. Woman’s car had broken down & she was on drugs & inexplicably had walked a great distance across fields to his house.

Even though Wafer at no time left his own home from inside—he was convicted. Court ruled doorstep had not been crossed into his home so killed someone outside.

He was sincerely crying in court that he didn’t mean to cut short her life and it was an accident while he panicked. Family of woman claimed white racism and took a fortune in settlement cash (must have been his house insurance) and said they wished he could be electrocuted.

This story is so sad its haunts me.
