The caravan of migrants making its way through Mexico is kind of a normal event and the United States ought not to reinforce its border against them, a United Nations official said on Friday. [ ]
Joel Millman, a spokesman for the U.N.s International Organization for Migration (IOM), told a U.N. briefing in Geneva there had been similar caravans for many years, and the group was still hundreds of miles away from the United States.
So (using) words like invasion and things like that is assuming that this is a new phenomenon which is a drastic emergency, and I dont think that anyone at IOM would share that view, he said.
This is kind of a normal event.
Militarized frontiers tended not to deter people from crossing borders, he added. Instead, they increased the profits of criminal people-smuggling gangs and led to deaths among migrants.
Militarizing the border is not something we are ever in favor of, he said. [ ]
We are calling for humanity and taking things away from politics, Babar Baloch, a spokesman for the U.N. refugee agency UNHCR, said at the briefing.

This is a self correcting problem. We let in 1.7 million of these Central Americans a year. Honduras only has around 9 million people and El Salvador has around 6 million. In less than a decade they’ll all be here and we won’t need the wall anymore!
Time to resurrect the old slogan
Get the UN out of the US and get the US out of the UN
We can house the illegals in the UN Building and associated high—class apartments they rent or own. See how long this “normal” situation remains normal by UN standards.

Immigrants Become Hostages as Gangs Prey on Mexicans
By Joel Millman
Updated June 10, 2009
EL MIRAGE, Ariz. — A whispered 911 call from a cellphone early one January morning brought police to a home on West Columbine Drive in this Phoenix suburb. Inside, they found more than 30 half-naked and shivering men — prisoners, police say, of a gang that had smuggled them in from Mexico.
Beaten and threatened with a 9-mm Beretta pistol, a local detective’s report said, the men were being shaken down for as much as $5,000 apiece, a ransom above the $1,000 that each had agreed to pay before being spirited across the border...

Nov 2017: EurActiv: UN chief: Migration highly desirable if managed humanely and responsibly
By Paola Tamma
For the first time, the Paris Agreement acknowledged climate change causes migration. At COP23 in Bonn, the big question is how to address it, William Lacy Swing said in an interview with EURACTIV.com.
William Lacy Swing is director general of the UNs International Organisation for Migration.
Lacy Swing spoke to EURACTIVs Paola Tamma on the sidelines of the COP23 in Bonn.
Q: Do you think that climate migrants should be given refugee status?
SWING: We need first of all to make a distinction between migrants and refugees. Refugees are people who are politically persecuted and have to leave their own countries, whereas migrants can come in many forms, including forced migrants. What were trying to negotiate now in the Global Compact for Migration is an agreement that would give countries a commitment to share responsibility for people on the move. There are many people on the move who dont qualify as refugees or stateless persons. They havent crossed international borders and are not IDP [internally displaced persons] in their own countries, but they need protection...

Calls Migration a ‘Right’ in a ‘World on the Move’
Penning an article for International Migrants Day entitled, “Our Right of Passage Should Be Safe Migration”, International Organization for Migration (IOM) chief William Lacy Swing opined that the right of “safe migration” should not be limited to the “global elite” of which the “privileged” caste he believes to include tourists, students, and legal migrant workers but should be extended to those who would “have no chance of getting a visa or work permit”.
“While we live in a time when a privileged elite considers global mobility virtually a birth-right, it is denied to countless others, trapped in hopelessly bad economic or conflict circumstances,” Swing writes, lamenting that “hundreds of millions who are not part of the growing, truly global labour talent market find themselves outside looking in, and looking onto a world they can only dream of.”
Swing, a former U.S. ambassador, has previously demanded the European Union (EU) open her borders to migrants and described endless third world migration to Europe as “inevitable”. ...

20 May: Breitbart: United Nations Migration Chief Attacks Trump, Claims Mass Migration in National Interest

Mexico offered asylum. It was rejected. This is an invasion without regard for our laws or international law. We cannot absorb all of humanity en mass. Thats suicide. We must maintain and protect our orderly legal immigration process.
US out of the UN.
The caravan of migrantsOnly in your one world mind.making its way through Mexicois kind of a normal event
Yes, massive lawbreaking is normal. That’s why real Americans elected President Donald Trump - we don’t want systematic crime to be normal.
“normal” Say an UN official.
This is something I’ve been thinking about. What the hell is the stupid UN for? If you’ve got a bunch of countries that are so corrupt that their people flee to invade another country, isn’t that where the problem lies? Why aren’t they addressing THIS issue?
Or could it be that the UN has been working to bring down Europe and North America for years by having them invaded? Methinks it’s #2.
Once again the cesspool speaks.
do not defend your border.
submit to the sumbitches at the Un.
“United Nations Migration Chief Attacks Trump, Claims Mass Migration in National Interest”
Sure it’s in your national interest if you are a set of America-hating, collectivist moving lips and waving hands like Bernie Sanders.
Oh ok. Thanks UN official.
Trump is waaaaaay too smart for these globalist Marxists.
They’re literally doing and saying the precise things that motivate us....and they thought these words and actions would damage Trump and the movement lol
Not tired of winning but do need to order moar winnamins
I will truly rejoice when Trump kicks the UN out of the USA & turns that building over for apartments for wounded vets.
If we get enough military along the border, the Wall could end up being a military expense.
I thin France would be an ideal place for UN v2.0.

Their 2030 Agenda is interesting. Basically sounds like 'take from those that have and give to those that don't'. (Social Justice aka communism.)
By 2030, ensure that all men and women, in particular the poor and the vulnerable, have equal rights to economic resources, as well as access to basic services, ownership and control over land and other forms of property, inheritance, natural resources, appropriate new technology and financial services, including microfinance
