No wonder the country is a mess with GOP “leadership” like that. Of COURSE a President can interpret a Constitutional amendment....which will be challenged in federal court, and either upheld, or reinterpreted.
The status of illegal aliens kids born here, as far as I know, not been tested in court—only that of legal residents.
No doubt there is a reason trump held off on this until the second pick on the court..

Just so. I wholeheartedly agree that it is way past time for this issue to e teed up for adjudication. But I also can’t ignore that it an excellent turbocharge for the base seven days before the election. Yet we have these leaders who can’t wait to throw cold water on it. At best, it shows a lack of strategic accumen.
