Babe Ruth once pitched a 14 inning complete game. Now these managers pull a guy who is almost pitching a perfect game after 6 innings. Hill is not a fastball pitcher so he was in no danger of getting hurt. He was pulled because his manager is an idiot.
I think that pulling Buehler was a mistake in game 3. He was knocking them down. I’ll bet Sandy Koufax was puzzled. He pitched his fair share of 1-0 games and stayed on the mound the whole way simply because he was getting the other side out.
