It may also end up costing him his job. I’m all for sabrmetrics, but you can’t let the data cloud your judgement in critical moments. Never discount the ability of an individual to rise to the occasion. If you’re hot, you’re hot.
I think that pulling Buehler was a mistake in game 3. He was knocking them down. I’ll bet Sandy Koufax was puzzled. He pitched his fair share of 1-0 games and stayed on the mound the whole way simply because he was getting the other side out.
