Time is running out for the migrant caravan currently sauntering through Mexico, as they approach the United States.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has already warned this horde of Central American immigrants that the US is not prepared to allow them to enter without the proper protocol, telling them simply to turn back as opposed to attempting any illegal crossing. As they continue onward, Mexico has even reached out to make offers of asylum for the huddled masses, to which the caravan responded with intent.
Several thousand Central American migrants turned down a Mexican offer of benefits if they applied for refugee status and stayed in the country’s two southernmost states, vowing to set out before dawn Saturday to continue their long trek toward the U.S. border.
Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto announced what he called the “You are at home” plan, offering shelter, medical attention, schooling and jobs to Central Americans in Chiapas and Oaxaca states if they applied, calling it a first step toward permanent refugee status. Authorities said more than 1,700 had already applied for refugee status.
But after one of the caravan’s longest days of walking and hanging from passing trucks, the bulk of the migrants were boisterous Friday evening in their refusal to accept anything less than safe passage to the U.S. border.
They didn’t mince words, either.
“Thank you!” they yelled as they voted to reject the offer in a show of hands in the town of Arriaga. They then added: “No, we’re heading north!”

..... What I am taking about is that this whole problem becomes real when these invaders set foot on OUR soil ....... So it should be incumbent upon our Government to prevent these Trespassers from crossing onto US Soil. Always Remember .... Once they are here they become the responsibility and wards of the United States and all of it's laws until they can .... if ever .... be deported back to their origin.

I figure that the US, If the Powers that Be haven't already, needs to tell Mexico to immediately begin setting up holding facilities at the prospective crossing areas to handle this crisis located at least a mile from our border on Mexican Soil. ..... Then quickly negotiate an agreement between the two nations to have American personnel interview prospective refugees. Then any that are deemed non acceptable should be returned to their originating country and charge the processing and transportation expenses billed to their home countries. The proceeds garnered could then be added to the Build the Wall fund.

It would seem like that's how Trump would play it. although I'm not a legal expert on this stuff.
Of course, this is an acceptable answer so long it remains consistent.
I’m okay with the catch and release method as long as they are released right back into Mexico so they don’t cost us anymore than they already have. They can file any papers to appeal at the American consulate in their home country; wherever that might be. How they get there is on their own dime and their own business; not ours.

they will be here at least 18 months during which some will be released to churches and others and disappear and go on welfare. Kids will add to crowded schools and some of them will join gangs and kill people.
Canada can then say go north to the polar regions or make your way to Siberia. Alaska is off limits. Have a nice trip. Dress warm, guys, okay?
I’m no expert, but I think the protocol when people reach the US border is to ask them if they are seeking asylum. As a rule you can’t just gain entry with no paperwork — unless, perhaps, you are seeking asylum.
Well, obviously, none of these people are seeking asylum. So, I sure hope they have all their paperwork in order. No need for any long, drawn out discussion about asylum.

They are no longer fleeing oppression. They’re out of the country they felt threatened in and now are in a country trying to be quite accommodating and nice to them.
They are no longer refugees.
When they show up on our dorrstep they’ll just be more Illegal Aliens and nothing more.
