If you read her biography, you'll see that the Catholic Sisters "interposed themselves" between teenage Sinead and life on the street: drugs, alcohol, and her sadistic, abusive mother. They basically saved her young life, educated her and encouraged her gifts for music and writing.

She repays them with the finger.

Interesting that you single out her anti-Catholicism as a gem from the midst of her dog's-dinner of soul-gibberish--- Rastafarianism, Druidism, Lesbian-Celtic-New-Age and suicide spirituality---and other side-dishes and entrees well mashed together.

It does give me a sad insight about her --- and about you, too.

My point is her critiques of the Roman Catholic Church-and even unbelievers can make salient points-were accurate to a large extent.

One of the reasons Ireland has so many problems, why the people embrace divorce and abortion and all manner of sin, is because of the corruption of the Catholic Church.

One of the best SNL skits ever featured Phil Hartman as Frank Sinatra hosting a talk show, with Sting as Billy Idol and the late Jan Hooks as "Sinbad O'Connor" (as Frank called her). This skit spawned the famous line "I got chunk of guys like you in my stool!"

I can agree with you on that. As the saying goes, "Corruptio optimi pessima" --- The corruption of the best is the worst.

Do not, however, discount the influence of the Marxist media and global anti-Christian political and financial powers which have lied, distorted, and manipulated the Irish people relentlessly for decades.

These groups ceaselessly subjected the Irish people to shame and insult for the very things which, from a saner perspective, should have made them proud: the pro-Christ, pro-decency, pro-life, pro-liberty, pro-virtue, pro-faith and pro-family ethos which had shaped and sanctified Irish culture 1600+ years.

Remember they were once the "Island of Saints and Scholars."
