I actually had to tell my landlord I would be late with the rent this month, because of the SS thing. It worked out, I got my rent paid.
My landlord got out of the Marine Corps the year before I was born. So when I went to see the place, he saw the sticker on my car, and we got off to a great start. 16 years later, it's more of a friendship than a landlord/tenant thing.
