I don’t know. If the economy is truly rising, then investing in America is a good thing, right? So, if we raise our interest rates, and this produced gov’t bonds at a good return, (AAA), you will get people investing in them. This is good I think. If there is a down turn, then you still have money coming in.
I think you raise the rates as high as you can without affecting the economy.
Yes, it will affect the housing market, maybe to lower prices, which would be good.
In short, I don’t know, but there’s something artificial on keeping interest rates at zero.
If the USA is the best place to put your money, then other countries will do this.
This is great news, that Trump should hit on tonight.
Hope I don't need a sarcasm tag.
“HOw can the 4th quarter be released, if we havent finished the 4th quarter?”
The Fed fiscal year starts 1 Oct 18. The Fed’s 4th quarter was 1 Jul 18 to 30 Sep 18.
Not that the Market must rule, but raising the bond rate takes dollars from investment as the return is gauranteed. That result in stock price drops which hurts pension plans, 401k plans which, given the ridiculously small SSS payments are the lifeblood of retirees whose SSS contributions now fund all sorts of benefits the fund was never created to provide.
That’s what they just announced wasn’t it?
You’re right only that if you are buying stocks that pay a dividend, then the dividend should rise.
And then there was the report on one of the fake news networks that the reason the stock market is taking a dump is that while the economy grew it did not grow as fast as expected.
Just crap.
Well....Obama is like a guy who couldn’t open a jar for 8 years, and then Donald Trump opens it and Obama says “I loosened it for you......so expect the left wing news pundits to say whatever they want too about anything today.
U.S. GDP grew by 3.5 percent in the third quarter.....Remember when the Democrats said that was impossible?
