They already had made the decision of leaving everything they had worked for: their jobs, their business and especially the rest of their family because they wanted freedom and opportunities. Life wasnt easy in the U.S. My parents had to work graveyard shifts and often couldnt afford groceries. But these sacrifices were small compared to the chance to live in a free, democratic country. I was able to fulfill my parents dream of going to college. I graduated with a bachelors degree in interior design and was fortunate to work in my profession for 11 years.
While in school, I met my husband Juan, who came from Cuba. We clicked because we both had the same political experiences, escaping socialist countries. He had the vision of someday having his own business something that is difficult-to-impossible in socialist countries. He was driven and ambitious which I admired in a young man. So, we partnered up for life.
Today, we live our dream of running our own restaurant in West Palm Beach. American socialists would likely respond to my story by saying, This time its different.
But thats the argument of every socialist revolution, including the Sandinistas. Suffering, poverty, and tyranny naturally accompany socialism of every form (Nordic countries, which have no minimum wage, private property guarantees, and private health care options, are hardly socialist).
Socialism isn't a new idea as proponents would have you believe, but an old, shopworn, and discredited one.
I would challenge any of these so-called socialists to live in Nicaragua, Cuba, or Venezuela with the locals before trying to implement their ideology in the U.S. Americans should consider socialist reality before signing up for Democrats' socialist dreams.

And before defeat of Congress party in India.
It was central planned economy, and country was poor with chronic shortages and rationing of products and food.
India is much more prosperous now after discovering capitalism.
A lot of them DO go to Nicaragua, and somehow come back unswayed.
