I searched for the “online group’s” posting (outside of National Review) but only found the NRO piece and this FR thread.

What’s the name of this online group of concerned parents? searching the undersigned “Parents of Trans-identifying Youth” didn’t find their group.
I read it and you are an ass.
I work with Church people and I must tell you, they have no power in this issue. You appear arrogant and smug and limited in your ability to understand.
Mere words mean nothing.
At first glance, it appears to me that the authors of the letter oppose the surgical mutilation of their children.
Now that I think of it, I have worked with Catholic families who have had to cope with transitioning priests and flagrantly homosexual priests who have emotionally and verbally attacked their conservative children for the childrens’ deeply held traditional beliefs.
And these priests have also been recruiting.
So don’t give me your sanctimonious bull about what the Church’s position is on these matters.
Once things are that far gone and your kid is in that system, I suppose so.
I’m just trying to help, but if it were my child, I would move and start over in a different fresh environment. I know it’s easier said than done.
How about answering the question instead of fixating on the richly deserved slight.
I still can’t believe you have the gall to post an excerpt that counsels “charity” as your justification for prideful condemnation of these parents.
I assume it means to affirm the kid’s choice - the choice to become a girl instead of a boy or vice versa.
I thank goodness YOU’ve already had your sex change surgery, because you’re so perverse you shouldn’t be allowed to raise a dog, much less a child. What is it with you weaklings? Someone is trying to sway your children into believing they need a sex change operation, and you beg A DOCTOR for help? I spit on your cowardice.
It must be HELL to raise daughters these days. Powerful segments of society are out to destroy them.
Even radical feminism, goofy as it was in the 1970's, affirmed that "It's All Right to Be a Woman." But no more. They're tearing the girls apart. I can't say more. I am furious.

They are standing in line for these kids.
These kids get legal services and guardians from the state in a heartbeat.
The state finds them friendly environments.

But think about the parents from CT who brought their daughter to Mass for a second option on an illness diagnosed in CT.
and how the daughter was removed from their custody for a couple of years and bombed with psych meds, and the parents could do nothing. You don’t really own your kids and as I tell my clients it takes one phone call to lose them.
I'm not getting that impression, to be honest. Go back and take a good hard look at your initial posts, not just to me but to others. I'm getting the distinct impression you're still projecting, but I'm not holding that against you.

Any time I write about topics like this I get nervous. I get a pit in my stomach and I worry that whomever reads it won’t fully understand, 1) what I’m trying to say, and 2) that it comes from the best part of my heart.
It comes from a place in my heart that only knows care and concern and love. It’s the part that wants to welcome everyone with open arms. The part where my deepest desire is that no one would ever be turned away from a pew in a church. I wish that no one would be looked upon scornfully, or judged for their outside appearance with no regard for what matters most — who they are.
So it’s from that place that I’m here to tell you first and foremost that the Catholic Church, as a whole, loves you.
I’m so sorry if that isn’t what you’ve experienced personally. If a person, or group of people who associate themselves with the Church have treated you poorly… well then you and I need to forgive them together. It wasn’t accurate. It wasn’t how the Church has ever encouraged them to treat you.
Our model is Jesus Christ. He let anyone sit and share a meal with Him. He saved the outcasts from the shame of isolation. He welcomed those whom others had judged and labeled as sinners. And He spoke the truth in love.

These parents are begging for restraint so that their children do not become similar victims of irreversible mutilation.
Do you believe children should be encouraged and supported to make permanent changes to their bodies?
